Guatemala

In March 2017, WAKE led a delegation of 11 volunteer Advisors to Guatemala to conduct interactive technology and communications trainings for women's rights activists from across Central America.

While in Guatemala, WAKE co-hosted the first ever Women in Tech Forum in Antigua with ImpactHub. During the forum our Advisors provided tech trainings for entrepreneurs and spoke on a panel alongside local women in tech.

The team also visited Starfish Impact School, where we learned about their work to ensure indigenous girls have equal access to education. We provided mentoring and training for young women graduates of Starfish.

Tech2Empower workshops and trainings are designed and facilitated by the WAKE team, Beth Kanter, and our volunteer Advisors. We are thrilled to have Advisors from Google, Mozilla, YouTube, GE Digital, MobileIron, Salesforce, and International Rescue Committee for Tech2Empower Guatemala.
