WAKE is launching Tech2Empower USA, an initiative to get tech tools and training to women rights leaders and their organizations. Our first workshop at Google in San Francisco on June 21st will offer hands-on activities and mentoring to women's rights leaders in the Bay Area, training them to use Google collaboration apps and tools most effectively in their important work.

The upcoming Bay Area workshop is in partnership with GoogleServe, and led by WAKE and Googlers who recently volunteered with Tech2Empower in Guatemala and Cambodia to conduct tech trainings. To date more than 500 women's rights leaders from 9 countries have participated in Tech2Empower workshops in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

We're excited to connect with, and support, other Bay Area nonprofits focused on women's rights. For details on eligibility and to apply, please see below.

Who should apply?

We invite applications from nonprofit organizations located in the San Francisco Bay Area working on women's rights including:

- immigrant women's rights and support
- reproductive rights & access to health services
- sexual assault & domestic violence prevention and services/support
- combatting human trafficking & services and support for survivors
- support and services for underserved women and girls

Preference will be given to organizations able to send two team members to the workshop as well as small organizations that may not have the resources to access tech training.

Why apply?

Tech2Empower workshops provide customized technology training for women’s rights nonprofits, access to tech experts, and opportunity to connect with other nonprofit leaders in the women's rights space. With enhanced skills, free tools and expanded networks, participants strengthen their work for women and girls.

This GoogleServe project is a collaboration between WAKE and Googlers who volunteer as Tech2Empower Advisors.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, June 2, 2017. Space is limited. We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. Apply early to secure spots for your team. Workshop is free of charge and lunch is provided.
