Rwanda, May 25 - June 1, 2019 Tech2Empower Rwanda focus areas: Girls' Education & Women Leading Change.From May 25-June 1, 2019, Tech2Empower will bring to Kigali a global delegation of volunteer Advisors representing top tech companies. In collaboration with Rwandan partners, Tech2Empower will provide training, hands-on coaching and services for impact projects, a Tech and Career Fair for Girls, and networking events. What is Tech2Empower?Through Tech2Empower, we support change-makers by getting technology expertise to women leaders in the NGO sector, social entrepreneurs and at schools focused on providing quality education and leadership training for girls and young women. We do this by connecting them with teams of volunteer Advisors from top companies such as Google, Salesforce, Symantec and Visa. Advisors collaborate with Rwandan partners through hands-on project work, coaching and training on technology tools.Tech2Empower Rwanda Week Sneak PeekAbout the Tech2Empower Advisor communityThe Tech2Empower community is growing. We have worked with 129 Advisors from 38 companies, collaborating with wonderful partner organizations in 10 countries. Advisors are women from top tech companies who devote their expertise, time and resources to help move the needle for women’s empowerment and girls’ education globally. Our Advisors possess a deep interest in learning from and with the partners and peers in the communities where we work. We are especially excited to learn from Rwandan partners as they are role models for the world in how to create an environment that fosters women's leadership. Learn more about Tech2Empower Rwanda focus areas: Women Leading ChangeWAKE is seeking applications from social enterprises and NGOs, led by Rwandan women, to participate in the Tech2Empower Rwanda: Impact Challenge, a 2-day collaborative event that will take place in Kigali, on May 27-28, 2019.> Program description here. > Apply by April 20, 2019 here. Applicants are invited to propose a specific project in tech, communications or admin/finances that would increase the reach and impact of their social initiatives. The selected applicants will be matched with a team of volunteer Advisors from top technology companies and over the two days, they will collaborate on the impact project, and learn from each other. Girls' EducationWe are co-hosting, with Akilah Institute, a Tech + Career Fair to inspire, mentor and train girls and young women. The Tech + Career Fair will include activity sessions like #IamRemarkable; Tech Trainings; Interviewing Skills and Career Mentoring. The Tech + Career Fair will include girls and young women from several partner schools throughout Kigali.
